Jasmine Smith is a passionate HR leader who is a key partner to executive leadership creating robust people strategies while owning organisational design & effectiveness within large and matrixed organizations. She has been at the forefront of fostering environments and culture that allows employees to be engaged and developed as well as championing inclusiveness, diversity and belonging.
Jasmine has been with Visa Inc for over 8.5 years and is SVP, Head of People, Visa Europe based in London, UK. Previously, she was a strategic People Business Partner for the Europe region post the acquisition of Visa Europe in 2016. During that time, she was instrumental in standing up the UK market which is the 2nd largest market for Visa and transforming the HR function in her HR for HR role for region. Before her time in London, she was VP, People Business Partner to the North America region and other global functions including Merchant Sales & Acquiring, Global Brand & Marketing and Global Finance based in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA.
Prior to coming to Visa, Jasmine was at Gap Inc headquarters in San Francisco for close to ten years. There she made a transition from product pricing & planning within the retail industry into the HR profession which more closely aligned with her strengths and career aspirations. Her first stint in HR was in Recruiting and she then moved into the HR Generalist space. She most notably supported the CMO and Marketing portfolio for Old Navy which was known to be a leading branding powerhouse within the retail sector.
Jasmine is known for her strong business acumen, strive for success, being a player-coach and trusted adviser. She believes a genuine and keen focus on people is a key component to making companies great. This focus fuels what she does every day and accelerates the growth of the businesses she is a part of.
Originally from southern California, Jasmine is a University of California, Berkeley alum. She sits on the board of World Trust which is a social justice non-profit organization based in Oakland, CA.
