SEEDL surveyed 3,900 direct reports asking them to define their line manager’s communication style (Instructive through to Coaching) then mapping staff turnover to the managers results. The results showed there’s a direct link between the line manager’s communication style and their staff turnover. The results will give the audience a clearer understanding of which styles of communication they may wish to develop to help staff retention. The session will also look at creating a ‘human elastic band’ where we demonstrate the ‘tension’ pulling managers to their ‘preferred comfort zone style’ and the risk of doing so.
